Happy autumn to you! It has finally arrived and my heart nearly about to burst thinking about all the things I love about this sweet season! Yesterday I popped into the thrift store with the kids after spending a few hours at the park to pick up some new sweaters and to browse the shoe racks. By the way, right now is such a good time to thrift for off-season gems like sandals, summer bedding, and warmer weather things as people are changing their wardrobes and tossing items that no longer fit. Sidebar: would you enjoy a post on thrifting and how I go about it? I know it can be a little daunting for some, but I have a few tips up my sleeve.

Anyhow, I found two beautiful vintage knits yesterday, and one of them I am probably going to wear all throughout winter because it’s super thick and the coziest. It’s vintage J. Crew and from the men’s section, a double score in my book. And the other I found sandwiched between less than fabulous circa 1980’s ugly sweater party sweaters with stitched bears and hearts on them. There she was, almost missed, a lightweight navy blue Pendleton turtleneck. Yes, a turtleneck! Long live the turtleneck, you guys. I love wearing them under my overalls and tucked into my high-waisted denim. I could really go on and on about my love of sweaters and all things knit (minus the bear sweaters), but you are here for some seasonal tunes so seasonal tunes you shall have.

Here is a playlist I made on Spotify that goes so well with all that is warm and snug this autumn. It’s much slower-paced than my previous playlists and full of introspective lyrics, something I appreciate about this transition we are in. Now, go ahead and get your sweaters out of the back of the closet if you already haven’t and enjoy this little playlist! If you are interested in listening to my other playlists, head here and here. And I am on Spotify as mamawatters, of course.

With Care,

Amanda

I can always count on your taste to be something I’d enjoy too…love that 🙂 José González is a favorite of ours! He’s a Swede if you didn’t already know 😉 We saw him live at a tiny little venue in Uppsala years back…and it was every bit of amazing that you’d imagine.ReplyCancel

  • Lara - Ah, those sound like some treasures! KC has such good thrift stores. We live in Southern MO, and there’s not quite that selection here, although sometimes I find a gem. My brother used to live in KC area, and he sells things on Ebay…he found a pair of vintage Ralph Lauren ski pants that he resold for $2,000! Haha, I always tell people that story because it’s just so crazy to me that someone would donate something like that.ReplyCancel

  • Heather - Your pictures are always beautiful, but somehow these are especially lovely. Also, I would love to read your thrifting tips. I rarely go, because I imagine that I don’t have the patience for it. However, I know my budget would thank me!ReplyCancel
