Happy new week to you! I am *almost* done making several small but significant changes to this space and will be revealing that shortly, however one of the last things on my list is to create an FAQ page for Homesong. I receive so many wonderful questions from readers on a daily basis and I’d like to take the time to answer and post the frequently asked ones, along with any others you are curious about or have interest in.
I also want to know what topics do you care to know more about? What series would you like me to expand on this year? I am all ears and would love to hear more about what is life-giving for you as a reader! On that same note with regard to the FAQ, what questions do you have for me about this space or how we do life? They can be general or specific, about this space or my little home over on Instagram, or both. I should have them compiled in about a week, so if you think of something later on and would like to add it, let me know.
I also want to take a moment to share my most sincere gratitude with those who spend time here, leave thoughtful comments, and continue to forge ahead with me in this space. You and your precious time invested here are a gift to me. Homesong is truly a labor of love, and the time and energy I pour into each post fills up my cup in the most profound and enriching way. To be able to make things I love – a home for my family, and to express my journey in life and in motherhood here in Homesong, is so special to me. I believe there is great beauty to be experienced in the simple doings of everyday life, and I am blessed to have a journal where I can both collect and share such treasures with you. From my heart to yours, thank you.
xx Amanda
Cassie - First, I just adore your heart and all that you pour into motherhood and homemaking. And I appreciate more than you know posting about all the rawness of motherhood. More of us should be open and honest. This blog is like a love letter and a “how to” all wrapped up in one for your children. Bless you.
I have always been curious about your relationship with your husband. It is refreshing to see you type things like This is how we do things, or This is how we feel, or In our home, we….I would love to know….Do you and your husband inherently share the same viewpoints and goals and parenting techniques and rule ideals or is this something you come together on and talk through together either often or with each new “child phase”. My husband and I are quite different in our journeys with the end results wanting to be the same so we need to talk it out often.
Robin - As a working mom, I have come to enjoy your blog immensely for your slow living ways, and I try to incorporate some of your strategies into my own life at home. It has made the small moment that I do get to be at home incredibly enjoyable. I love your garden rhythms, and your homemaking tips/tricks/recipes have increased my happiness level at home infinitely! I’d love to hear more on meal-planning and budgetry, if you’d like to share.
I so, so appreciate your reflections on mothering- my kids are a little older and I see myself, 5 years ago, in those posts. I think that you’ve created a nice, quiet, supportive space, and the hectic-ness of my life craves it.
Rebecca - Thank you for the mobile update 👏🏼👏🏼 Now I can enjoy reading more than ever! Love what you’ve created and share here Amanda.
Johanna Roman - Awesome, sweet of you to be able to share and put out there your artistic work and simple living. I would love to know tips on how you photograph and what filter you use/phone/camera. So beautiful recorded images of your life and children childhood.
Thank you,
Johanna
Jessie - So grateful for your friendship and the way you light up the world in your own special way. To live life, the big and the little bits, with purpose and intention and joy…there is no greater gift to ourselves and to those around us. We know why we were created…and each day is an oppunity to confirm it. Love your heart, mama. Have a beautiful, blessed week! xx
Julie - I am a new reader to your blog and I love what you’ve created here. I am interested in homemaking, healthy meals, craft, gardening, simple living. I think our roles as stay at home mums and homemakers are so important and we need to place more importance and value on what we do at home. One thing that I sometimes struggle with is motivation. I will go really well for a period of time and then I start leaving things again and before I know it we have one big mess and this feels overwhelming. I also need to do more decluttering and organizing in our home to keep things simple and to reduce the time spent cleaning. I look forward to reading more. Your page is already inspiring me. Thank you xxoo
Katie - I love Homesong! And your heart. I would love to know how you keep grounded and balanced. I’m a new mama who rarely has time to keep the house clean, to take care of myself, to be a good wife and intentionally parent. You seem to always have a beautiful home, I would love to know how you do it!😊
Kate Hursh - Amanda,
I think it would be lovely if you had a book club, song club or some type of engaging media post maybe once a month. To explain, a book, song, series of podcasts, etc. could be designated for the month and then at the end, sharing a collaborative post, like an online book club or discussion. I think that it would be so wonderful to share ideas, good reads, and good listenings amongst you and all of us avid followers. Again, thank you for all that you do! I love coming to this blog and finding a place free of haste in a busy, busy world.
Best,
Kate
Angel - I love your blog and always look forward to new posts! I’ve been inspired by the way you do life, whether it’s the meals you cook or the arts and crafts you do with your kiddos. I’ts a highlight of my day to sit down and read your blog posts. Anyhow, I was wondering if you could share more on your parenting methods/discipline. Thank you!
Allison - I love Homesong. I’m a new(ish) mom…my little is 14 months old. I had a tough time transitioning to being a mom and to the comparative isolation of staying at home. I love it and am so grateful for it and I’ve always wanted to do this…Raise babies and be home, but man, it’s hard work! I struggled so much with feeling like myself and with caring for myself, and I have to say, finding your blog a couple months ago has been so life-giving to me and an incredible game changer (I could go on, but let’s just say I now have a lamp in my kitchen and candles in the morning are the best). So thanks. I’m so grateful for this calming and inspiring spot online. 🙂 Any visual ways to get organized in meal planning or cleaning routines would be awesome, but I love everything. 🙂
Bethany - I love Homesong! My favorite posts are the ones relating to cleaning, EO tips, and recipes. xx
Peach - I adore your blog. It’s simply beautiful, thank you for sharing. I enjoy coming to your space and learning about oils, what you and your children are reading, your home tips and you. You share a good part of yourself and that can’t always be easy. Thank you again!
I would love to see more of homemaking, as I am one myself and find joy in it.
Amara - I would love to have more on natural skincare/your skincare routine, but also basically anything else you post. I love you blog and get so inspired by you!
Eda - dear amanda, as you know, I love your blog and your ideas on life and parenting and homemaking and so on. I’d love to read more about the everyday use of essential oils, remedies, oranization ideas, cleaning topics and parenting. it would be great to hear if there are special rules you follow in the parenting game. it seems as if your kids never drive you nuts (which cannot be true haha).
I am very nosy, so I just love to see corners of your home, how you decorate and how you store things in wardrobes, … speaking of wardrobes – what does “living simply” mean for you when it comes to your own closet and your kids closets? do you buy secondhand for them, do you buy only organic cotton things? I find this to be a difficult thing to do (budgetwise).
last but no least – I love when you talk about the hard stuff. from your pictures one might think that everything in your home and life is just so cool and good and easy going. but from reading some of your posts I know that you have struggles, too. I love to hear about them, they help me feel better in my mama game and in being a woman.
all the love from bern, xo eda
Eda - oh, I forgot two things. it would be so great to learn about your ways to make time for the relationship with your husband and if there are some rituals that help you in doing this. we are not very good at it (yet). and now with the second baby on the way, it freaks me out a little, that there will be no time at all for just the two of us.
and the other thing I am curious about is your daily routine. do you still get up before your kids and do your mama morning routine, what time do the kids get up, what do you do with them on a daily basis, etc. i find myself being in the kitchen a lot preparing food and cleaning up after and often have the feeling of “I’ve done nothing today” – not for myself and nothing very interesting with my son.
thanks!
Kosima - Amanda,
I read your posts for years now and still feel inspired. 😉 Thanks a lot!
I would love to read more about your faith and how you live it daily. And I would love more recipes (your sick soup please!) and a book club, like Kate suggested, sounds great. But whatever you write – I will love it anyway, I’m sure.
xxx Kosima
Kosima - And as I wondered about your sick soup recipe and took a look at Homesong after my last comment, I of course found it… But more recipes anyway please! 😉
admin - Kosima, glad you found it! I hope to share more faith-based posts in the future, specifically about where we are and where we came from. It’s such an integral part of our lives and sharing it here only seems fitting. x Amanda
Nadia - Hello Amanda. I have been following you on instagram and have read your blog for years and I must say, you have inspired me to live simply! I wondered if you could share with us your makeup, beauty routine and also share with us your wardrobe, handbags, shoes etc. I usually like to watch YouTube videos on these subjects for inspiration. Thanks again for sharing your ideas and words and photos!
