Little One Holiday Gift Guide | For The Reader

Here is a gift guide I put together for the little readers in your life! It’s one of three (yes, three!) I will be sharing this holiday season to help give you some ideas and inspiration if you are still on the lookout for meaningful gifts for young ones. We have several of these books already, will be gifting our babies some from this list as well, and have our eye on a few for future Christmases and birthdays. I believe one can never have too many books in their home, and because of that, books are one of my favorite gifts to give.

  • Tanya - We have sewing school, and a couple others are already in my amazon wish list! These are great choices, thank you! I put together a large Usborne order in November for my kids–their books are educational and fun, the perfect combo. I’m excited to dig into them in homeschool.ReplyCancel

    • admin - Tanya, yes to Usborne! They are all so wonderful and educational without being too stuffy. Great ideas, mama! x AmandaReplyCancel

  • Sarah - Ever since our daughter was tiny, she’s been receiving a Flick, Ricka, Dicka story each Christmas. I love the simplicity of the stories and the sweet illustrations. This year, since she is six, she will also receive The Children of Noisy Village, by Astrid Lindgren. We read Pippi Longstocking this year, and she loved it! I highly recommend the version illustrated by Lauren Child.
Her birthday is just a few days after Christmas, and she will receive The Blue Forest by Luke Fischer. I read an excerpt of these bedtime fairy tales, and they seem really sweet and magical.
I love giving books, and two of my favorites to give in winter are Owl Moon by Jane Yolen, and Christmas in Noisy Village by Astrid Lindgren. A new discovery, which I gifted our daughter last year, was Sleep Tight Farm by Eugenie Doyle. The illustrations depict my dream home:)
Thank you for the above recommendations! Hope your weekend has been cozy.ReplyCancel

  • Agata - in 80% i was looking at the same books! Gerda Muller and Elsa Beskov are our favourite for the beautiful illustrations and Julia Donaldson for stories…xxxReplyCancel

  • Naomi - We love Alain Gree books. We’ve bought the ‘Nature’ book for our little ones this year, and the pictures are so sweet!ReplyCancel
